Gallia County • June 3, 2025
Good morning, Gallia County. Fresh organic produce isn't the only thing growing in our region—so are job opportunities. Azure Standard Inc. is planting roots in nearby Lawrence County with a $9.3 million investment that will harvest 150 new positions at their East Coast distribution center. The nationwide organic food distributor is bringing cold storage, office space, and 14 greenhouses to South Point, creating a replica of their Oregon headquarters that promises to deliver natural foods with "greater speed, sustainability, and freshness."
Meanwhile, royalty season has arrived as eight accomplished young women compete for the Gallia County Fair Queen crown. Candidates from Gallia Academy, River Valley, and South Gallia high schools are preparing for the July 28 pageant, where one will succeed current queen Emma Clary. Across the river, Mason County Commissioners are tending to community growth too—recognizing CEOS Week volunteers, approving a solar facility agreement, and addressing courthouse improvements that keep our region moving forward.
