🏥 Healthcare heroes

Gallia County • March 18, 2025

Good morning, Gallia County. The frontlines of community health are busier than ever, with Meigs County Health Department nurses delivering nearly 1,000 immunizations and conducting over 900 infectious disease investigations this year. Their tireless work addressing everything from COVID-19 to tick-borne illnesses highlights the critical yet often unsung healthcare heroes working daily to keep our region healthy—with walk-in appointments available for those needing blood pressure checks, vision screenings, or other essential services.

On the economic development front, local leader Cole Massie is putting Gallia County on the national map after receiving the prestigious Robert M. Ady Scholarship at a global site selectors conference in Florida. While networking with dozens of influential professionals who guide corporate expansion decisions, he showcased our county's 77-acre industrial site—forging connections that could transform our economic landscape. Meanwhile, the county prosecutor's office announced 19 indictments on major drug charges, many targeting out-of-state suspects.
