Point Pleasant High School clinched first place in the state's annual "NO School Spirits PSA" contest, beating out nearly 350 students from 29 schools. Their winning public service announcement, titled "The Choices You Make," tackled serious issues like drunk driving and alcohol poisoning. The video will reach millions during the 2025 prom and graduation season through TV, radio, and social media. The competition, backed by multiple organizations including the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association, awarded over $10,000 total to five winning schools across West Virginia.
👩⚕️ Eleven new nurses celebrate milestone achievement at Ohio career center. The Buckeye Hills Career Center honored its latest class of practical nursing graduates in a special pinning ceremony this January. The intensive program included over 1,300 hours of training, with students completing clinical rotations across various healthcare settings including geriatrics, pediatrics, and emergency care. Two outstanding students received special recognition through scholarships from Holzer Health Systems and Rivers Health. Notably, five of the graduates were part of an early placement program allowing high school seniors to begin nursing training before graduation.
