Good morning, Franklin County. A taste of Texas is making its way to Columbus as Side Piece Pies prepares to bring its New York-style pizza slices to Victory Lap bar on Lane Avenue. This culinary crossover creates an unexpected connection between the Lone Star State and Buckeye territory, offering OSU students and locals alike a simple but satisfying menu of cheese, pepperoni, and specialty slices when game day hunger strikes.

While movie theaters nationwide struggle with post-pandemic attendance, Gateway Film Center finds itself at a crossroads with the departure of president Chris Hamel after 15 years of leadership. As the nonprofit venue operates at 65% of pre-pandemic levels, board members are conducting a national search for someone who can navigate these challenging times. Meanwhile, early voters should note that polling locations will pause operations on Monday for Columbus Day before resuming normal hours Tuesday morning.
