Good morning, Franklin County. A powerful movement disguised as a coffee shop has arrived in Upper Arlington. Bitty & Beau's Coffee just opened its first Ohio location, creating meaningful employment for people with disabilities in a nation where 80% of those with Down Syndrome remain unemployed. The North Carolina-based chain's newest barista, Jessica Komjati, expressed feeling "blessed" by the community's enthusiastic support at their Kingsdale Shopping Center location.

In stark contrast to this uplifting development, tragedy struck early Sunday morning when a Lyft ride in north Columbus ended in gunfire, leaving one person dead and another injured. Meanwhile, the Ohio Supreme Court finds itself embroiled in controversy after former Chief Justice Maureen O'Connor's portrait was relocated from its prominent position—a move many view as retaliation for her independent judicial stance during Ohio's redistricting battles last year.

⚖️ Ohio Supreme Court snubs its first female Chief Justice. Former Chief Justice Maureen O'Connor's portrait was demoted from the Grand Concourse to the ground floor by Republican colleagues. The snub follows O'Connor siding with Democrats in ruling GOP-drawn redistricting maps unconstitutional, which sparked calls for her impeachment. Despite being a Republican, O'Connor prioritized the letter of the law over party loyalty during her historic career as Ohio's longest-serving woman elected statewide. The editorial argues her portrait deserves restoration to its rightful place of honor.
