Good morning, Fayette County. The dining landscape of Newark is shifting once again as Mariposa Mexican restaurant served its final tacos last Saturday, just months after changing ownership. The downtown space won't stay empty for long, though—a new concept called Stockyard Grill is already lined up to take over the 3rd Street location, promising fresh culinary adventures for local food enthusiasts.

While Highland County deputies tackle a wave of theft investigations across multiple locations, Court House Manor is focused on growth and expansion. The Washington Court House senior living facility is doubling its footprint with 24 new assisted living apartments, bringing their total capacity to 48 units. This family-owned operation continues to prioritize both socialization and independence for seniors, with the new spaces expected to welcome residents by 2026—a bright spot in our community's future.
