Fayette County • September 2, 2025
Good morning, Fayette County. The changing of seasons brings more than just autumn leaves to our community. As Highland County prepares for a judicial transition with Judge Rocky Coss's upcoming retirement, attorney John W. Judkins has stepped forward to continue the legacy of fair and dignified justice. The McClain High School graduate's deep roots and extensive legal background speak to his commitment to Highland County—much like the profound community impact of Russell Johnson, the 87-year-old shepherd who spent decades mentoring young people in the fine art of sheep showing before his recent passing.

Russell Johnson, 87, of Hillsboro, passed away on August 25, 2025, just months after his wife Dorothy with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.
