Good morning, Fayette County. Downtown parking spaces have become the latest hot commodity as Washington Court House prepares to welcome new businesses to the area. With Vinyl Coffee and Scotty's 22 Brew set to open their doors, city officials and the Chamber of Commerce are asking county employees to use designated parking areas instead of prime customer spots—highlighting the delicate balance between economic growth and practical logistics in our evolving business district.

Meanwhile, the county's safety concerns range from the personal to the profound this week. The Sheriff's Office report details everything from stolen mini skid steers to traffic stops yielding fake IDs, while former State Rep. Adam Miller raised alarms at a senior luncheon about veterans facing potential homelessness as the VA's mortgage-rescue program ends May 1st. With no replacement announced and thousands of veterans at risk, the call for better support echoes throughout our community.

⚾ Baseball Scoreboard

Miami Trace unleashed a hurricane of their own against Wilmington, drowning the home team in a 20-1 deluge that wasn't even close to fair weather baseball. The Panthers improved to an impressive 9-1 while Wilmington limped to 1-6, proving that some storms just can't be weathered. Both teams will look to regroup Wednesday as Miami Trace hosts Greeneview while the Hurricane travels to Western Brown, hoping to find calmer seas away from home.
