🚒 First responder refresh

Fayette County • April 10, 2025

Good morning, Fayette County. Behind every thriving community are exceptional young people like Holly Schiering, Madison-Plains' April Student of the Month. With a 3.9 GPA and leadership roles in band, choir, and multiple organizations, Holly embodies the perfect blend of academic excellence and community involvement. Her teacher's description of her as "someone who makes the world a kinder place" reminds us how individual character shapes our collective future—especially as she prepares to pursue nursing at Capital University.

The spirit of service extends beyond our youth to our first responders, with Ohio fire departments receiving a much-needed boost through $2.52 million in equipment and training grants. The funding, benefiting 141 departments across 70 counties, addresses critical needs in smaller communities with populations under 25,000. Meanwhile, political engagement continues with Ohio Rep. Allison Russo headlining Highland County Democrats' spring dinner on April 22, offering voters a chance to hear directly from state leadership about pressing issues.
