📚 Belle Aire students shine on third quarter honor roll. The Washington Court House school recognized outstanding academic achievements for the 2024-25 school year, highlighting students across grades 3-5. Third graders Kyla Ann Moore and Makayla Sibbett were among the 24 students earning straight A's, while dozens more achieved A-B status. Fourth grade celebrated 15 students with perfect grades, including Laylynn Baker and Kyree Fulton. The fifth-grade honor roll featured 20 all-A students such as Emma Phillips and Lincoln Biggs, demonstrating academic excellence throughout the school.
🏆 Fayette County Public Health achieves national accreditation milestone. The department's 2024 annual report highlights their recognition from the Public Health Accreditation Board after extensive preparation and infrastructure improvements. New initiatives launched include the Family Connects nurse home visiting program, Converse with a Nurse sessions, and Healthy Kids classes promoting nutrition and exercise. The department administered 1,850 immunizations, distributed WIC Farmers' Market coupons, and completed a Community Health Needs Assessment in partnership with local organizations. These achievements position the county for improved health services and community outreach in 2025.
🌱 Fayette County YMCA gears up for a month of community activities. Three exciting events in April offer something for everyone in the family. Gardening enthusiasts can join a free Flowers & Landscaping class on April 5, while those wanting to learn lifesaving techniques can attend a CPR certification course on April 12. Families won't want to miss Healthy Kids Day on April 26, featuring obstacle courses, bounce houses, and food demonstrations. The YMCA continues its mission of promoting youth development, healthy living, and community engagement through these educational opportunities.
