Good morning, Fairfield County. The iconic yellow sign of Waffle House is about to illuminate another corner of Central Ohio. While trendy brunch spots tempt us with $15 avocado toast and bottomless mimosas, this 70-year-old institution continues winning hearts with its no-frills approach and legendary smothered hashbrowns. The chain's 23rd regional location is coming to Hamilton Road near Gahanna, proving that sometimes the most enduring dining experiences are also the most straightforward.

As breakfast empires expand, local democracy thrives with Laurel Township's upcoming trustee election featuring three candidates vying for two seats on November 4. Community engagement continues at Lake Logan, where the Lake Association invites both members and the public to their November 2 meeting at the Izaak Walton lodge. The 1 p.m. gathering will cover ODNR communications and upcoming events—a perfect opportunity for residents to learn about efforts preserving one of our county's natural treasures.
