Good morning, Fairfield County. Resistance is futile when it comes to the gravitational pull of sci-fi history beaming into our backyard this summer. The Decorative Arts Center of Ohio has transformed into a portal to the final frontier with its "Star Trek & Worlds Beyond" exhibition, showcasing 60 years of iconic props and costumes from one of television's most enduring franchises. This free cultural treasure in downtown Lancaster offers a rare glimpse into how Hollywood has imagined tomorrow's decorative arts.

What makes this exhibition particularly special is its local connection—curator Randall Thropp, who manages Paramount's archive, is a Lancaster native bringing home pieces of Hollywood history. Several artifacts from the collection's 800+ hours of Star Trek adventures have never been displayed publicly before, giving visitors until August to experience this unique intersection of science fiction and artistic vision. Live long and prosper, indeed.
