Good morning, Fairfield County. East meets Midwest this week as the captivating sounds and movements of Thai classical dance arrive at Ohio University Lancaster. The Moradokmai Theatre troupe from Bangkok will transform the campus gymnasium into a cultural embassy on April 17, offering local residents a rare opportunity to learn traditional Thai dance techniques directly from students trained by a Thai National Artist. This continues a meaningful cultural exchange between Ohio University and the Bangkok-based non-profit that's bringing a slice of Southeast Asian artistry to our corner of Ohio.
In a stark contrast from cultural enrichment to criminal enterprise, a former Pickerington resident has received a 42-year prison sentence for orchestrating an elaborate $5.7 million Medicaid fraud scheme. Sally Njume-Tatsing operated three Ohio-based home health companies while actually living in California, systematically billing for inflated hours and non-existent services. The hefty sentence includes full restitution to Medicaid, closing a chapter on one of the region's most significant healthcare fraud cases.
