πŸ“ Farm to future

Fairfield County • February 12, 2025

Good morning, Fairfield County. As winter's icy grip tightens across Central Ohio, Canal Winchester is heating up with plans that could transform 95 acres of farmland into a bustling new neighborhood. The ambitious Miller Farms project isn't just another housing development - with 444 units and generous green spaces planned, it's practically a small town in the making, promising to pump $1.72 million annually into local schools.

Meanwhile, the financial forecast is less sunny for Logan Glass Technologies, where unpaid bills are stacking up faster than the snow emergency alerts hitting our southeastern districts. The latest $10,674 lawsuit joins a mountain of debt approaching $700,000, proving that even the most promising business ventures can sometimes crack under pressure - especially when Mother Nature decides to throw her weight around.

πŸ’” Failed glass company hit with another unpaid bill lawsuit. Chillicothe Steel Company is seeking $10,674.93 from Logan Glass Technologies, joining several other creditors who've already won judgments totaling nearly $700,000. The defunct manufacturer had received a $65,000 JobsOhio grant and planned to invest $2 million to produce glass cullet in a former GE plant. Harsh weather in December 2022 and April 2023 forced the short-lived company to shut down just months after announcing plans to hire more workers. The business collapse left multiple suppliers empty-handed despite initial economic development support.
