Applications cost $3 each and require a valid Ohio hunting license, with successful applicants chosen by random lottery. New hunting areas include Caesar Creek, Killbuck Marsh, and several other wildlife areas across the state.
🍕 A beloved Columbus pizzeria serves its final slice this week. Antonio's Pizzeria in Westerville will close on July 19 after over 20 years in business due to "irreconcilable differences" with the landlord. Owner Rita Vaccari Pavuk shared the unexpected news on social media, noting the difficult decision wasn't wanted. The restaurant, which opened in 2005 carrying on recipes from a 1977 original location, had earned numerous awards including first place at Slice of Columbus and top finishes in pizza competitions.
⚡ Lightning strike kills man at Columbus high school soccer field. Mouhamed Seye, 36, died on July 4 at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center after being struck by lightning on June 29. The Franklin County Coroner reported his death was caused by lightning injury with cardiac arrest and thermal/electrical burns. Another person was also struck during the incident at Northland High School and taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition. No updates have been provided on the second victim's condition.
