Good morning, Dev Test County. From the streets of New Orleans to the top of Dallas law enforcement, Daniel Comeaux's remarkable journey showcases the power of determination. The decorated DEA veteran brings his competitive spirit and fishing gear to his new role as Dallas Police Chief, after being honored with a fitting New Orleans-style brass band sendoff at his Houston retirement celebration—a touching tribute to his roots in the 7th and 9th wards.

The city faces both transition and tragedy this week. A deadly motorcycle accident paralyzed U.S. 75 traffic for hours early Sunday morning, while the Dallas school board welcomes fresh leadership with newly elected trustees Byron Sanders and Prisma Garcia. The pair joins Superintendent Elizalde amid financial challenges, with Sanders aiming to make DISD "the premiere district" and Garcia focusing on improved bilingual communication with families.
