🪆 Barbie's stormy debut

Clermont County • April 4, 2025

Good morning, Clermont County. While Barbiemania captivated theaters last summer, the iconic doll's 66-year fashion evolution is now dazzling visitors at the Cincinnati Museum Center. From the original 1959 Barbie #1 to the groovy 70s editions and the pioneering career dolls that told generations of children they could be anything, this comprehensive exhibition celebrates how a simple toy became a cultural touchstone—even featuring that coveted 1984 Ultra 'Vette that had kids everywhere dreaming of the open road.

The weather, however, is providing much less nostalgic thrills as overnight storms left 48,000 without power across the region. With fallen trees damaging homes and forecasters warning of "potentially historic" rainfall through Saturday, residents should prepare for significant flooding. In brighter development news, the decade-in-waiting Village North project has finally broken ground, promising a 49-acre "urbanesque" community anchored by Whole Foods where future residents can walk to shopping, dining and community spaces.
