Good morning, Athens County. A remarkable $4 million lifeline is flowing into Ohio's homelessness prevention efforts, with our very own region securing the lion's share. Hocking Athens Perry Community Action has been awarded an impressive $2 million—half of the state's total allocation—to strengthen their critical work supporting our most vulnerable neighbors. This significant investment from the Ohio Department of Development represents a powerful commitment to addressing housing insecurity in our communities.

The funding arrives at a crucial time when many families continue to face housing challenges amid economic pressures. These resources will help expand support services and create more stable pathways for those experiencing homelessness across our three-county area. For those interested in learning more about how these funds will be implemented and the specific programs they'll enhance, the full details are available on page A3. This development marks a meaningful step forward in our region's ongoing efforts to ensure everyone has a place to call home.
