Good morning, Westerville. Leadership transitions are bringing fresh energy to local education, with Kris Fuller stepping into the principal's role at Gahanna Middle School South. The multilingual educator's journey from French teacher to administrator exemplifies the kind of career pathway that strengthens connections between our middle and high school communities – precisely what district officials hope will flourish under his leadership.

In a fascinating intersection of art and science, Ohio State researchers are demonstrating how Argentine tango can help breast cancer survivors literally regain their footing after chemotherapy. The dance therapy is showing promising results in repairing neural pathways damaged by treatment. Meanwhile, Congregation Agudas Achim is celebrating Rabbi Josh Warshawsky's installation on May 8-9, where his musical talents and vision for building community have already attracted new members to the Bexley synagogue.

🏫 Gahanna Middle School South welcomes former high school assistant principal as new leader. Kris Fuller will take over as principal following Robin Murdock's retirement, after receiving Board approval on April 17. Currently an assistant principal at Gahanna Lincoln High School since 2022, Fuller previously served at both the high school and Middle School South as a French teacher. The multilingual educator holds degrees from Bowling Green State University, New York University, and completed his Principal Licensure at Ohio State. District officials believe Fuller's experience will help bridge connections between the middle school and high school communities.

πŸ’ƒ Argentine tango helps breast cancer survivors regain their balance. Ohio State researchers are expanding a clinical study that uses adapted tango dance therapy to help rewire the brain after chemotherapy-induced neuropathy. The therapy combines fun social dancing with scientific techniques to improve sensation in hands and feet, reducing fall risks for cancer survivors. Led by Dr. Lise Worthen-Chaudhari, the study found that just 20 minutes of dance a few times weekly can begin repairing neural pathways damaged by cancer treatment. Researchers are recruiting 140 breast cancer survivors to further study how this musical movement intervention improves "dual-task" functioningβ€”the ability to move and think simultaneously.

πŸ• Rabbi Josh Warshawsky brings musical talent to Congregation Agudas Achim installation. The May 8 celebration will feature hors d'oeuvres, music, and a dessert reception with several visiting rabbis participating in discussions on Jewish education. As interim rabbi, Warshawsky spent months getting to know the community through coffee dates with members, learning about generational families and their synagogue expectations.
