The Ohio resident, who previously struggled with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis that left her gasping for air even with oxygen support, received new lungs at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in September 2022. Two years post-surgery, Sidesinger has gone from barely walking 10 feet to hiking mountains in Colorado and the Dominican Republic. The transplant was performed by a comprehensive team of specialists who carefully evaluated donor lungs—among the most challenging organs to transplant with fewer than 30% meeting transplantation criteria. "I don't complain about anything because once you can't do the everyday little things and you can now, you just shouldn't take anything for granted," says Sidesinger.

🚗 Drunk driver critically injured after car flips in Franklin County crash.
