Washington Court House • March 7, 2025
Good morning, Washington Court House. Artistic talent is blooming across our region this spring! While Greenfield Elementary students showcase their creativity in Cincinnati's Studio San Giuseppe exhibit, celebrating Youth Art Month alongside their dedicated art teacher, downtown Washington Court House is experiencing its own renaissance. The Historic District Review Board just granted $20,000 to revitalize two apartments on Fayette Street, part of a strategic effort to breathe new life into our historic downtown core.
Literature is on the move throughout Ross County, where "The Bee" Mobile Library has children literally buzzing with excitement. This literary lifeline made its latest stop at Write Start preschool in Clarksburg, where eager young readers returned and checked out books. Beyond schools, The Bee makes regular appearances at apartment complexes, ensuring that the joy of reading reaches every corner of our community, regardless of location.

ποΈ Historic district approves funds to revitalize downtown living spaces. The Washington Court House Historic District Review Board granted $20,000 to Herbert and Paula Graham for rehabilitating two apartments at 109 S. Fayette Street. The funds come from the Historical District Living Grant, which provides money for downtown living space renovations on a reimbursement basis. Graham noted that revitalizing downtown apartments increases foot traffic to local businesses and addresses housing needs as population grows. The board also re-approved Level Up Arcade's application for storefront changes at 202 E. Court Street.
