Good morning, Vinton County. Social media sensation Sister Cindy descended upon Ohio University this week, transforming College Green into something between a revival meeting and performance art. The TikTok-famous preacher's 30-year tradition of campus visits continues to polarize students, with some viewing her as pure entertainment while others question the impact of her controversial messaging. Whether genuine evangelist or savvy social media strategist, she certainly knows how to draw a crowd.

The future of agriculture looks bright at the Meigs County Fair, where Racine Southern FFA members showcased their impressive livestock handling skills and collaborative spirit. Meanwhile, history and community converge this weekend at The Plains Indian Mound Festival, offering everything from classic car displays to educational exhibits from COSI and the Columbus Zoo. With free activities including pony rides and rock painting, it's a perfect autumn outing that celebrates both our region's heritage and its youngest residents.

🔊 TikTok-famous preacher Sister Cindy draws mixed reactions at Ohio University. The evangelical social media personality visited College Green on Wednesday, attracting crowds of students who viewed her with both amusement and criticism. While some students see her as an entertainer disguising as an evangelist (or vice versa), others expressed concern about her targeting young adults with controversial messages. Cindy claimed on Instagram that about 30 people "prayed to repent" during her visit, noting she's been visiting the campus for 30 years. Some students also pointed out a double standard in how Christian evangelism is accepted on campus compared to other religions.
