Good morning, Vinton County. In the world of lasting legacies, few shine brighter than Kelley Hoellrich's. The beloved Logan-Hocking educator, whose decade-long battle with cancer never dimmed her dedication to students, continues making an impact even after her passing. What began as a Volley for the Cure fundraiser has transformed into scholarship opportunities through Brighten Your Future, carrying forward her lifelong commitment to expanding educational horizons for local students.

Meanwhile, musical dreams are taking center stage at Stuart's Opera House, where nearly 65 young musicians find instruments, recording studios, and mentorship completely free of charge. The 13-year-running after-school program gives students ages 12-21 the chance to form bands, perform at local venues, and develop original music. For those with more practical matters at hand, Falls Township has scheduled their cemetery cleanup for mid-October—a gentle reminder to retrieve any decorations you wish to keep from the seven local cemeteries before October 13.

💗 Teacher's legacy transforms volleyball fundraiser into student scholarships. When Logan Volleyball selected Kelley Hoellrich as their Volley for the Cure honoree before her passing, her husband directed the funds to Brighten Your Future, a local scholarship foundation. The initiative provides last-dollar grants to Logan High School graduates, helping them afford college. Hoellrich, who served the Logan-Hocking School District for over 20 years as a teacher and digital curriculum specialist, was known for her compassion, advocacy, and tireless work expanding learning opportunities. Her decade-long battle with cancer never diminished her dedication to students, colleagues, and her three daughters who followed her into education and professional careers.
