Their comprehensive daily report offers a snapshot of the constant vigilance required to maintain community safety, with officers crisscrossing the city to address concerns ranging from minor traffic violations to more serious assault cases.

While police tackle daily challenges, the region's future looks bright thanks to academic achievement. The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio recently distributed over $700,000 in scholarships across 32 counties, with local students Grace Heffernan and Jazahera Moore among the deserving recipients. And summer celebrations are just around the corner—Gallia, Meigs, and Mason counties are preparing for spectacular Fourth of July festivities featuring parades, contests, and dazzling fireworks displays that will light up the Ohio River valley.

🎓 Local students win prestigious scholarships for college dreams. The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio and Gallia Community Foundation awarded over $700,000 in scholarships across 32 counties, including to Grace Heffernan and Jazahera Moore from Gallia County. Both received the Bob Evans and Wayne F. White Legacy Scholarship, with Moore also earning the AK Steel Foundation Scholarship for STEM studies. FAO has provided more than 600 postsecondary scholarships to over 300 students across 26 counties this year. The foundation works with donors and volunteers to support educational opportunities throughout Appalachian Ohio.
