The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio and Gallia Community Foundation awarded over $700,000 in scholarships across 32 counties, including to Grace Heffernan and Jazahera Moore from Gallia County. Both received the Bob Evans and Wayne F. White Legacy Scholarship, with Moore also earning the AK Steel Foundation Scholarship for STEM studies. FAO has provided more than 600 postsecondary scholarships to over 300 students across 26 counties this year. The foundation works with donors and volunteers to support educational opportunities throughout Appalachian Ohio.
