Good morning, Vinton County. As the calendar turns to July, our nation's founding story comes alive right in our backyard. Acclaimed presidential re-enactor Curt Radabaugh will transform into George Washington himself at the Ross County Heritage Center this Independence Day weekend, offering a rare glimpse into the life of America's first commander-in-chief. The free July 5th presentation provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate our nation's birth through living history while exploring fascinating local exhibits.

While we honor our past, critical support arrives for our present challenges. Ohio's Summer Crisis Program launches July 1st, bringing much-needed cooling assistance to eligible households struggling with summer energy costs. Meanwhile, Hope Fest prepares to address our region's alarming suicide rates with its September community event at Rio Grandeโ€”a sobering reminder that in Southern Ohio, community initiatives often become lifelines for our neighbors in need.
