Good morning, Vinton County. The walls of Ross County are literally telling stories these days, with vibrant murals chronicling everything from Ohio University's achievements to the region's canal-era past. Some of these painted time capsules date back to the 1800s, preserving fragments of local history in bold strokes and vivid colors across building exteriors throughout neighboring communities.

Meanwhile, cooperation is saving lives as Chillicothe approves $60,000 to reimburse townships for emergency medical assistance within city limits. This mutual aid agreement follows changes prompted by a 2021 tragedy when a woman died waiting for an ambulance. In other public safety news, Chillicothe police had their hands full with 31 incidents during a single Wednesday, tackling everything from assault cases and stolen vehicles to shoplifting and warrant arrests across town.

🎨 Vibrant murals bring Ross County's history to life. From Downtown Chillicothe's Ohio University vinyl showcase to Walmart's community representation, these public artworks tell local stories through color and imagery. Historical murals in Bainbridge and Frankfort depict the rich heritage of these areas, while Chillicothe features diverse works including the Telephone Mural painted in 2006 and a canal scene reflecting the city's past. Some artworks, like the advertisement mural on East 2nd Street, date back to the 1800s, preserving fragments of local history on building walls throughout the county.

🚑 Chillicothe approves $60,000 to reimburse townships for emergency medical aid. The city council passed an ordinance sponsored by Councilman Jeff Creed to pay neighboring Scioto and Union townships when their ambulances respond within city limits. This mutual aid agreement works both ways, with townships also reimbursing Chillicothe when city EMS assists them.
