Dr. Michael Koop, Dr. Greg Obi, Dr. Jennifer Steele, and Kim Ciroli have each earned the 2025 Regional Higher Education Outstanding Faculty Awards—a testament to the remarkable talent nurturing the next generation of professionals right here in our community.

In other developments, law enforcement has made a breakthrough in the mysterious death of 28-year-old Rosanna Kinsinger with the arrest of Samuel Hochstetler on murder charges. Meanwhile, the future looks promising at Buckeye Hills Career Center, where an impressive 58% of seniors have already secured employment before graduation. 🎓 Four Ohio University professors honored for exceptional teaching and service. Dr. Michael Koop, Dr. Greg Obi, Dr. Jennifer Steele, and Kim Ciroli received the 2025 Regional Higher Education Outstanding Faculty Awards for their contributions. The awards recognize excellence in teaching, scholarship, and community engagement across Ohio University's regional campuses. ⚖️ Murder arrest made in mysterious death of Pomeroy woman. Samuel Hochstetler has been charged with murdering 28-year-old Rosanna Kinsinger, who was found dead in Rutland, Ohio on March 13. After weeks of investigation, detectives identified Hochstetler as a person of interest and arrested him following questioning. The suspect, originally from an Amish community in Kentucky, was arraigned with a $1 million bond despite preliminary autopsy results being inconclusive. Sheriff Fitch expressed hope that the arrest brings closure to the family of Kinsinger, who was described as "a beloved individual in her community."

🎓 Career-ready teens secure jobs before graduation at Ohio signing day. Buckeye Hills Career Center celebrated high school seniors already committed to joining Ohio's workforce during their annual Career-Technical Signing Day. State Representative Jason Stephens delivered the keynote address, highlighting community engagement and future opportunities for these young professionals. The event brought together 23 regional employers from industries including healthcare, construction, and cosmetology. An impressive 58% of the class of 2025 has already secured job placements, with 139 students currently employed across various sectors.
