Vinton County • March 10, 2025
Good morning, Vinton County. March is bringing more than just spring weather to our corner of Ohio - it's delivering a season of opportunity! Local high schoolers can now showcase their hometown pride in a special essay contest with cash prizes on the line, while the beloved Wellston Lions Club food booth returns this Thursday with those hand-cut fries and sandwiches we've all been craving through the winter months.
Meanwhile, doors are opening for the future with the Emancipation Scholarship now accepting applications from African American students across the region. With a 2.5 GPA requirement and an April 15 deadline, these funds could be the stepping stone many young scholars need for their educational journey. Nothing says "community spirit" quite like investing in both our favorite local traditions and our promising young minds.
