Good morning, Union County. When it comes to safety excellence, our region is making headlines in dramatically different ways this week. The Transportation Research Center just clinched the prestigious 2025 "Excellence in Traffic Safety" Award from the National Safety Council, celebrating 500+ days without lost-time injuries while advancing automotive safety technology. Meanwhile, across the county, Amazon's data center fire in Jerome Township reveals the opposite scenario—with firefighters battling flames for 36 hours amid reports of major safety violations that led to worker injuries and a $50 million damage bill.

If all this safety talk has worked up your appetite, there's delicious news on the horizon. The Yappy Greek has brought its Mediterranean magic to Columbus' Crosswoods area, trading Wilson Bridge Road for Campus View Boulevard. Their signature gyros feature meat fresh from the vertical spit, while spicy feta dip and Greek fries smothered in garlic sauce round out a menu that might just transport your taste buds straight to the Aegean coast.
