Good morning, Union County. As summer winds down, the county's athletic excellence heats up with West Liberty-Salem's cross country team achieving perfection. The Tigers remain undefeated at 35-0, with standout Asher Cole shattering school records with his blazing 15:31.5 time. This impressive display of local talent demonstrates why the team holds their well-deserved No. 3 ranking in Division III, with four runners placing in the top 15 at their latest victory.

Labor Day weekend brings both schedule adjustments and celebrations across the area. While Bellefontaine residents should note that trash collection will run one day behind schedule next week, the West Liberty Lions Club's 60th Annual Labor Day Festival offers the perfect holiday distraction. Saturday's packed lineup features everything from morning parades to evening performances by McGuffey Lane, creating the ideal backdrop for community connections before autumn officially arrives.
