Union County • August 27, 2025
Good morning, Union County. August 28th marks a pivotal day in our community's fight against addiction stigma, as the Drug Overdose Prevention Coalition hosts dual events offering both practical resources and emotional support. From the daytime recovery fair at Partners Park to the evening memorial service at The Avalon Theatre, these gatherings represent our county's commitment to showing those affected by addiction that they truly aren't alone on their journey.
The circle of life continues to turn in our community as we both celebrate legacies and mourn losses. Abraham "Abe" Miller's remarkable 86 years showcased a craftsman who could "do, fix, or craft anything" from wooden clocks to hog roasters, while the unexpected passing of 28-year-old Thayne Reinhardt reminds us to cherish each moment. Both families have invited the community to upcoming celebrations of life, honoring two men who left distinctive imprints on Union County.

These events aim to reduce stigma and connect people with vital resources in their community.
ποΈ A beloved craftsman and family man leaves behind a rich legacy. Abraham "Abe" Miller, 86, of Plain City passed away surrounded by family after a life filled with creativity and service. Well into his 80s, Abe remained active, enjoying woodworking, golfing, and bicycling around his Ohio hometown and winter home in Florida. His family invites friends to celebrate his life at an open house on September 14, 2025.
