Good morning, Summit County. The iconic State Route 82 bridge connecting Sagamore Hills and Brecksville has suddenly gone silent, closed without warning after ODOT inspectors discovered structural integrity concerns during a routine check. The unexpected shutdown will last at least 30 days, with mid-November targeted for reopening. This comes as both I-77 rest areas in northern Summit County begin their year-long transformation, leaving commuters without these familiar pit stops until November 2025.

On a whimsical note, Clayton Bailey's World of Wonders robot museum is extending its hours for Akron's Fall Fest on October 18. Recently named to the Ohio Creativity Trail, this free-admission gem inside the Polsky Building will welcome visitors from noon to 7 p.m., offering complimentary treats and coloring sheets. The museum's collection of legendary robots and bizarre mechanical wonders provides the perfect quirky counterpoint to autumn's more traditional festivities.
