🏠 Luxury amid headwinds

Good morning, Summit County. With federal funding cuts threatening vital programs, County Executive Shapiro's annual address struck a sobering note amid a year of growth. Her warning of "significant headwinds" ahead comes as job training initiatives that helped workers earn an average of $21 per hour now face uncertainty. The contrast between public resource challenges and private wealth is particularly striking as eleven multi-million dollar homes—averaging $2.7 million each—currently grace our luxury real estate market.

Broadway magic is making its way to E.J. Thomas Hall as Playhouse Square's 10th season brings beloved classics to Akron stages. Tickets for "Mrs. Doubtfire"—the musical adaptation of Robin Williams' iconic film—and "The Music Man" go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m., with performances scheduled for January and February. The lineup also features fan favorites "The Book of Mormon" and "Elf The Musical," offering welcome entertainment as we navigate both community challenges and celebrations.
