Good morning, Summit County. Filling up your tank just got significantly easier on your wallet. Gas prices across Northeast Ohio are plummeting, with Akron's average dropping nearly 18 cents to $2.74 per gallon — potentially heading toward the lowest summer prices we've seen in years. This welcome relief comes as experts predict the national average could dip below $3 later this summer, giving drivers something to celebrate beyond those Independence Day weekend bargains.
In bittersweet local news, the community mourns 26-year-old Ar'mon R. Covington, tragically found shot multiple times at a Grant Street BP station early Saturday morning. Meanwhile, Cavaliers fans have reason for excitement as hometown hero Larry Nance Jr. returns to Cleveland after four years away. The forward, who'll wear his father's retired #22 jersey, becomes part of one of only two family trios in NBA history to represent the same franchise — bringing a poignant full-circle moment to the Cavs organization.
