Good morning, Summit County. Time is money, and Akron Law School's innovative 3+3 program is banking on both for aspiring attorneys. The program has expanded to 13 partner institutions, allowing undergraduates to begin law school coursework early and complete both degrees in six years instead of seven. This "school of opportunity" approach is breaking down financial barriers to legal careers, proving that sometimes the most valuable education is learning how to work smarter, not longer.

Meanwhile, Summit County's four-legged residents are feeling the love thanks to the Million Meals campaign, which turned Cleveland Browns' touchdowns into thousands of pet meals for families in need. And speaking of essential support, the upcoming Community Baby Shower on July 19 will provide struggling families with a month's supply of diapers—addressing a critical need that affects one in two households and often prevents parents from accessing childcare while they work.

⚖️ Akron Law School's 3+3 program slashes time to become attorneys. The innovative initiative allows undergraduate seniors to begin law school coursework early, earning both bachelor's and law degrees in six years instead of seven. Starting with four partner schools in 2017, the University of Akron has expanded to 13 participating institutions, recently adding Bluefield State University, Concord University, and Franciscan University. Students complete undergraduate studies at their original institution before finishing their law degree at Akron, saving money and entering the workforce sooner. The program supports Akron Law's mission as a "school of opportunity" by reducing financial barriers to legal careers.

👶 Akron event offers struggling families a month's supply of diapers. The Community Baby Shower on July 19 will provide essential items to eligible Summit County residents who are pregnant or have infants under one year old. Organized by Full Term First Birthday, the initiative aims to eliminate sleep-related infant deaths and address racial health disparities in infant mortality. Families must apply by June 30 and meet income requirements not exceeding 200% of the federal poverty level. The event addresses a critical need, as diaper insecurity affects one in two households and can prevent parents from enrolling children in daycare to work.
