🏆 Visitor vote time

Summit County • March 14, 2025

Good morning, Summit County. A staggering $1.7 billion in visitor spending flowed through Summit County last year, and now the Akron/Summit Convention & Visitors Bureau wants your input on what makes our region shine. The 22nd annual Zenith Awards have opened voting through April 11, giving you the chance to spotlight your favorite local restaurants, attractions, and events that keep tourists returning and support over 21,000 local jobs.

From celebrating established businesses to nurturing new ones, our community continues to invest in its future. Just ask North High School sophomore Arpan Teyung, who transformed a $100 micro-investment into "Arpan's Vision," a formally registered photography business. His entrepreneurial journey stands in poignant contrast to the community's gathering at the Akron Municipal Building Tuesday, where friends and family honored Jazmir Tucker on what would have been his 16th birthday, following his fatal shooting by police last Thanksgiving.
