Good morning, Scioto County. The pop fountain at Market Street's splash park just passed its first test with flying colors, giving us a sneak preview of summer fun to come in 2026. While that might seem like a long wait, the Burnside Brankamp Park is making visible progress with concrete work completed and crews now focusing on the performance stage—which could debut as early as this year's Winterfest celebration. Nothing beats watching community dreams take shape right before our eyes.

Meanwhile, opportunities for growth are sprouting across the region. Free Microsoft Office workshops are heading to Pike County next month, offering valuable workplace skills to residents. And while the Ohio State Highway Patrol screened over 400 vehicles during a recent checkpoint on SR 73, their focus on safety continues throughout the area. From computer skills to community safety, this week reminds us that preparation today creates a stronger tomorrow.
