Good morning, Scioto County. What began as a small gathering of just 12 children in 2018 has blossomed into one of our region's most anticipated summer traditions. Party in the Parks is expanding to nine events across Lawrence and Scioto counties this year, bringing free food, games, and school supplies to local families. The Lawrence County Commissioners clearly recognize its value, recently approving a $3,000 donation to keep the good times rolling.

While our community's children enjoy summer fun, music lovers are buzzing about the return of hometown heroes to Appalachia. Chris Stapleton and Tyler Childers will headline next year's Healing Appalachia festival at the Boyd County Fairgrounds, bringing their acclaimed talents back to their roots. Closer on the calendar, the inaugural Lawrence County Trade Day arrives May 17, featuring vendors, food trucks, and even live chainsaw carving demonstrations—all benefiting local 4-H programs.
