🌬️ Wind warning woes

Ross County • March 20, 2025

Good morning, Ross County. Red flag warnings blanket our region today as fierce winds up to 30 mph combine with bone-dry conditions to create a perfect storm for wildfire danger. If you've been considering that spring yard cleanup burn, officials strongly urge postponing until after conditions improve—Mother Nature isn't in a forgiving mood from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today.

Meanwhile, our local sports programs are showcasing the power of experienced leadership. Adena and Huntington softball teams are building on sectional championship momentum with key senior talent, while Southeastern's track squads look to veteran performers like Daniel Morgan and Karlie Peters to climb the SVC rankings. In economic bright spots, TYKMA Electrox is expanding operations with six new positions thanks to an $18,150 grant—proving that growth continues to take root throughout Ross County.

⚾ Senior talent leads Adena and Huntington softball after sectional wins. Both teams are building on strong previous seasons where they captured sectional championships. Huntington returns key seniors including All-Ohio third baseman Savannah Bushatz and All-SVC shortstop Allie Baker. Adena faces the challenge of replacing six graduated seniors, but coach Brad Jadwin has confidence in his talented youth and two senior leaders. Both programs are focusing on teamwork and improvement as they compete in what Jadwin describes as a league that's "up for grabs."
