Ross County • December 31, 2024
Good morning, Ross County. From ghostly whispers at the Majestic Theatre to uncovering actual human teeth in pawn shops, our intrepid local reporter Shelby turned 2024 into Chillicothe's version of "Ripley's Believe It or Not." Her adventures read like a perfectly peculiar playlist of small-town charm - mixing paranormal investigations with alpaca farm visits and circus museum discoveries that would make even Netflix's documentary team jealous.
The thrills weren't limited to supernatural encounters, though. Our athletes wrote their own legendary chapters this year, with Adena volleyball reaching state final four heights and Bella Flores serving up a perfect conference career. Meanwhile, Coach Kellough closed his playbook after an astounding 52-year run that would make Ted Lasso's tenure look like a summer internship. From wrestling history makers to Gold Ball champions, our local sports scene delivered more highlights than a SportsCenter marathon.

The diverse coverage showcased both Chillicothe's quirky charm and its rich cultural heritage.
🏆 Small-town athletes shine bright in Chillicothe's remarkable sports year. The Adena volleyball team made history by reaching the state final four, while tennis star Bella Flores capped her perfect conference career with All-Ohio honors. Legendary coach Gary Kellough retired after 52 years and 557 wins, leaving an indelible mark on Ohio high school basketball. Unioto dominated with Gold Ball victories in both football and softball, while Waverly's Ava Green made history as the first-ever state wrestling placer from her conference. Individual excellence continued with All-Ohio performances in track, golf, and multiple other sports, showcasing the region's deep athletic talent.
