Good morning, Preble County. After 55 years of pastoral leadership, five doctorate degrees, and a lifetime of lifting others up, Bishop Rudolph Pringle has left an extraordinary legacy that ripples through our community. The beloved Middletown activist, who passed away at 92, was affectionately known as "the governor of the city" – a fitting title for someone who spent decades championing underdogs while mentoring countless local pastors alongside his wife of 62 years.

Safety improvements are making headlines as the newly completed $1.78 million roundabout at Ohio 122 and Elk Creek Road finally opens after a three-month closure. The project aims to reduce accidents at a notorious intersection while restoring emergency response times. Meanwhile, Middletown residents can mark their calendars for September 23, when Mayor Elizabeth Slamka will deliver her State of the City address – a candid look at both challenges and triumphs as the community charts its course toward 2026.

🚗 Life-saving roundabout opens after three-month construction closure. The $1.78 million project at Ohio 122 and Elk Creek Road in Madison Township aims to reduce crashes at an intersection that saw 28 accidents between 2015-2020. Madison Township Fire Chief Kent Hall welcomed the improvement, noting it would restore response times that had been "drastically" impacted during construction. State Rep. Thomas Hall, who helped secure funding for the project, called the opening "surreal" after initially facing some community resistance. According to ODOT, roundabouts typically achieve a 44 percent reduction in crashes, addressing the main goal of preventing injuries and fatalities.
