Good morning, Preble County. The architectural marvel rising in West Carrollton represents more than just a new elementary school—it's a glimpse into education's sustainable future. Opening August 20, this 97,000-square-foot facility blends heritage with innovation, incorporating salvaged elements from former schools while aiming for LEED certification. With bright, naturally-lit classrooms and a gymnasium doubling as a tornado shelter, the building demonstrates how thoughtful design can honor the past while preparing for tomorrow.
In a dramatic contrast to construction and creation, a flaming SUV brought I-75 traffic to a standstill Friday evening, thankfully without injuries as Vandalia and Butler fire crews responded. On a more uplifting note, the community can breathe easier now that 13-year-old Noah Keller has been found safe after being reported missing. The Eaton Police confirmed the teen's safe return, concluding what had been an anxious search throughout Preble County.
