Good morning, Preble County. July's summer heat isn't the only thing slowing traffic in Middletown this week. Starting tomorrow, SR 122 will undergo a four-day transformation as crews mill away three inches of pavement before adjusting manholes and adding fresh asphalt. While the road remains open throughout the project, those familiar morning commutes might require a few extra minutes as lanes temporarily narrow between the University overpass and Jackson Lane.

Faith and fellowship are in full bloom across our communities this season. From Northside Chapel's detective-themed Vacation Bible School to the soul-stirring harmonies of Kyle and Brittany Shaeffer at Somerville Community Church, spiritual gatherings abound. Meanwhile, veterans and music lovers alike can mark their calendars for July 19, when Eaton VFW Post 8066 hosts the Freedom Jam fundraiser featuring eight musical acts across two stages—creating the perfect soundtrack for a summer weekend that supports those who served.

🚧 Ohio road project will cause delays on SR 122 this week. Starting July 17, a repaving project between the University/Roosevelt overpass and Jackson Lane will lead to intermittent lane closures in Middletown. While traffic will be maintained throughout the four-day project, drivers should expect temporary driveway and intersection blockages. The Ohio Department of Transportation will first complete three inches of pavement milling, followed by manhole and valve cover adjustments before final paving and markings.
