Good morning, Preble County. The Great Miami River is about to make a splash—literally. West Carrollton has secured an impressive $1.2 million in grants to advance their ambitious whitewater park project. The recreational destination is projected to draw 105,000 annual visitors, transforming not just the riverfront but potentially the entire region's economic landscape. With $25-30 million in total development costs, this represents one of the area's most significant investments in outdoor recreation and tourism.

Meanwhile, academic excellence continues to shine brightly as five local students earned spots on Miami University's prestigious President's List—an honor reserved for just the top 3% of undergraduates. And in neighboring Wayne County, Richmond Police Chief Kyle Weatherly is making waves of a different kind, announcing his candidacy for sheriff with a "One county, one team" platform that emphasizes improved communication between agencies and community protection.
