Good morning, Preble County. A financial storm is brewing at Miami University, where $150 million in student tuition has been quietly rerouted into the endowment while the institution simultaneously claims budget deficits. Professor Steven Conn's satirical exposé reveals how these funds are being counted toward the university's billion-dollar Capital Campaign without student knowledge—all while academic programs face cuts and faculty positions remain frozen.

In brighter campus news, The Miami Student newspaper has captured regional journalism excellence for the second consecutive year, winning the prestigious Corbin Gwaltney Award and 13 additional honors across diverse categories. Meanwhile, environmental ambitions are taking root with Miami's bold 2040 carbon neutrality plan, featuring the development of the Sharon and Graham Mitchell Sustainability Park—a visible testament to the university's commitment to a greener future.

💰 Miami University secretly pockets student tuition as "fundraising" success. The university has transferred $150 million in budget surpluses into its endowment while simultaneously claiming financial deficits year after year. Academic programs face cuts and hiring freezes due to these artificially created budget shortfalls. Professor Steven Conn's satirical letter exposes how student tuition payments are being diverted from education to future projects like a new basketball arena. The university counts these redirected funds toward its $1 billion Capital Campaign goal without students' knowledge or consent.
