🔄 Dorm makeover magic

Preble County • March 19, 2025

Good morning, Preble County. A $50 million transformation is quietly underway at Miami University, where three aging 1970s residence halls are getting much-needed makeovers. The ambitious three-year project for Emerson, Morris, and Tappan Halls showcases some impressive planning—renovations will happen exclusively during summers to ensure nearly 1,000 students won't find themselves temporarily homeless during the academic year.

In more sobering news, Ohio State Highway Patrol is searching for the driver of a black Chevrolet Impala involved in a fatal hit-and-run that took the life of 66-year-old Mary Carter in Trotwood. Meanwhile, civic-minded residents can mark their calendars for 2025, as the Register-Herald has published a comprehensive guide to community meetings throughout the county—perfect for anyone looking to have their voice heard in local governance or simply connect with neighbors.
