The retired Yale Law graduate and Upper Arlington councilman joins a contest that's heating up early, adding his impressive background of arguing before the U.S. and Ohio Supreme Courts to a field that includes both Democratic and Republican contenders for the position being vacated by term-limited Dave Yost.

In local news, a startling scene unfolded Thursday when an SUV plowed into the Henderson Road CVS, leaving a gaping hole in the building but miraculously causing no injuries. Meanwhile, our community mourns the loss of beloved 41-year-old educator Alex Jarvis, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.
