The City Council approved a new 12-month agreement with Dynegy Energy Services, capping rates at 10.4Β’ per kWh for its electric aggregation program. This represents a significant increase from current rates, driven by skyrocketing capacity costs that jumped nearly nine times in the latest auction. Despite the increase, Energy Alliances reports the program has saved AEP customers an average of $416.58 and Ohio Edison customers $491.99 through December 2024. Customers can still leave the program anytime without termination fees or join at the same rates as existing participants.
