Portage County • October 17, 2025
Good morning, Portage County. Fizzy news is bubbling up as Coca-Cola pours a refreshing $35 million into their Twinsburg facility. The expansion will create 40 new jobs and boost production capacity by six million cases annually, bringing their 2025 output to a staggering 31 million cases serving four states. This investment represents just a fraction of Coca-Cola's regional footprint, which currently employs over 2,210 people across 15 Ohio facilities.
While some businesses expand, local emergency services are desperately calling for reinforcements. Garrettsville's Community EMS is seeking additional levy funding on November's ballot to address skyrocketing call volumes and staffing shortages. In brighter news, Gurney Elementary second graders celebrated a reading milestone with a cozy pajama party complete with flashlights—proving that sometimes the best adventures happen between the pages of a favorite book.
