Good morning, Portage County. The unimaginable became reality for one Akron woman when two masked intruders entered her bedroom at 3 a.m., weapons drawn. The August 18 home invasion has prompted police to release surveillance photos of the suspects, described as "armed and dangerous" and still at large. Meanwhile, transparency took center stage in Cleveland Heights, where a judge ordered the release of body camera footage showing the mayor's wife's public outburst at City Hall, dismissing privacy claims as "completely devoid of substance."

As autumn settles in, healthcare options for our senior population are expanding throughout Northeast Ohio. ArchWell, a Nashville-based company specializing in care for adults over 60, is establishing nine new facilities across the region, including transforming a former Eastlake grocery store into a specialized medical center. This marks the company's first foray into our area, reflecting the growing focus on meeting older adults' unique healthcare needs.

🔫 Armed intruders terrorize sleeping Akron woman at gunpoint in her bedroom. Two masked men broke into a home on Orlando Avenue around 3 a.m. on August 18, waking the victim with weapons drawn. Akron Police Department released surveillance photos of the suspects on September 8, describing them as "armed and dangerous." One suspect reportedly wore all black while the other may have been in a black/gray Columbia sweatshirt, both using what appeared to be surgical-style masks. Police warn the public not to approach the suspects if spotted and instead call 911 or submit anonymous tips through various channels.

📹 Judge demolishes mayor's attempt to hide wife's City Hall meltdown. Cleveland Heights Mayor Kahlil Seren lost a legal battle to keep body camera footage of his wife's "obscenity-filled outburst" private, with the judge ordering its release within 30 days. The court ruled the mayor's privacy argument was "completely devoid of substance" since the incident occurred in a public building. Cleveland.com editor Chris Quinn noted Seren could have avoided "five beatings instead of one" by simply releasing the public record initially. The ruling comes amid a recall vote, with critics condemning the use of taxpayer dollars to fight transparency laws.
